I have re-discovered the ukulele after many years.
My first experience was in the mid 1950s. I wanted a guitar and the deal was, learn to play the ukulele and then we'll get the guitar. So they brought me the FIRST UKULELE and I found someone at school who could teach me to play.
What I didn't know then and only found out when I returned to the ukulele, is that they omitted to re-string the ukulele for a left hander.
Result, I can play upside down!
I re-string everything these days.
I passed muster and spent the next 60 years playing the guitar.
A local ukulele group (Springfield Uketopians) re-kindled my interest and today I am a recovering UAS addict.
