Neck block and top kerfing fitted at either end.
This top was thinned down and a rudimentary bridge plate and braces where fitted.
I used a circular sanding disk in a drill press to reduce the thickness.

Given the Fender neck with no headstock back angle I had to fit a string bar to get the strings down to go onto the tuners.
